Harald Krüger, president of BMW, has taken advantage of the International Motor Show in Geneva to confirm the arrival of a new electric model of the brand, the BMW i4.
Although official dates have not been announced, Krüger assures that the company will have 25 fully or partially electric models by the year 2025, among which the i4 will be found. Some specific means plus the launch date, placing it around 2020.
The new BMW i4 will be based on the lines of the BMW i Vision Dynamics, a prototype that was presented at the Frankfurt show in 2017. Its position within the range is not yet clear, but due to its dimensions and Gran Coupé design, it has generated speculations of the possibility that the new BMW i4 replaces the current BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe.
From Munich say that the electric will have a range of around 600km, and will be able to reach 100km / h in just four seconds. Its maximum speed will be electronically limited to 200 km / h.
The production of the BMW i4 will take place in the Munich factory, headquarters of the Bavarian brand. BMW thus unifies the production of its electric vehicles since the BMW i3, the BMWi8 and the future BMW i4 will share an assembly place.
