The maximum sportiness can have a greater attractiveness when it comes to a convertible. This is the case of the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 Convertible, the new variant of the high performance car. The novelty, in theory, of the Hall of Los Angeles 2017 was the closed version, but the Detroit manufacturer has surprised presenting the option without a roof; the first since the ZR1 was introduced to the world in 1970.

The North American firm has wanted to maintain the benefits and the response of the closed version. To this end, it has maintained the same suspensions and has only increased the weight of the whole by 27 kilograms, an increase corresponding to the opening and closing system of the hood. And is that the only modifications that have been made have been in its aluminium chassis, only in the upper part, and in the area of the anchors of the seat belts. Said hood can be folded and deployed remotely or in motion at a speed below 48 km / h. And it's open air when you can most enjoy the sound of your engine with its four sound levels: Stealth - quieter than the Corvette Z06 -, Tour, Sport and Track.
It also maintains the supercharged LT5 6.2L engine capable of yielding 755 hp and 968 Nm of torque, with which it is capable of accelerating from 0 to 96 km / h in less than three seconds and reaching the quarter of a mile in 10, that with eight-speed automatic transmission - also available with a seven-manual transmission.
The convertible ZR1 Corvette can equip the ZTK package, which costs $ 2,995, about 2,500 euros, and includes a large rear spoiler, front separator and magnetic suspension, all in order to produce an aerodynamic load of 430 kilograms. It also equips Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires.
