2018 Subaru XV - by the way, the Subaru model has been included in the list, which was introduced in Spain at the end of last year. It is now available
The Subaru XV is a crossover. The advantage of this type of cars is that they are worth (almost) everything: field, road ... In this case, the Japanese brand says they have designed this model thinking mainly in the city. Due to its dimensions and characteristics, this Subaru model is an alternative to vehicles such as the Kia Sportage, the Hyundai Tucson or the Peugeot 3008. Broadly speaking and simplifying to the maximum, it could be said that the new XV is a Subaru Impreza disguised with a field suit. The black plastic fenders are joined by a raised suspension that gives a free height of 220 mm and striking 17-inch wheels as standard.
More powerful and efficient engines
As a good Subaru, it maintains the permanent integral traction and of course the boxer motors. In Spain the range consists of two blocks of gasoline and one diesel, all of four cylinders, but remodeled (it is the first time in 21 years). The range in gasoline is made up of a 1.6 (replacing the previous 1.5) and a 2.0.The first has 115 hp and the second 150 hp, although the great novelty is that they are now more efficient and the 2.0 is only associated with a box ' CVT 'that Subaru calls' Lineartronic'. As for the 1.6, it is attached to the five-speed manual gearbox. For its part, the 2.0 diesel has a manual change of six gears.
Only one fault: the automatic transmission
Dynamically convinces. The gasoline engine is very smooth at idle, but it has an important downside: with the 'Lineartronic' change it is stepped on ... and nothing happens, except that the needle of the revolutions goes up and rises. In spite of that, in Subaru they have achieved that the efficiency is better than with the manual change. Diesel leaves a better taste in the mouth: the change is quite precise handling and you can enjoy driving a lot more. In this section does not disappoint: despite its greater height, thanks to the use of the boxer engine lowers its center of gravity, so it is noble in areas of curves. The stability control (ESP) works well if the situation is undone and the direction is moderately accurate. There are four finishes available: 'Advance', 'Sport', 'Executive' and 'Executive Plus'.
A complete series equipment
The equipment is good: the Subaru XV includes as standard 17-inch alloy wheels, anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic braking force distribution (EBD), stability control (ESP), front, side and curtain airbags and of knee, and starting assistant in slope, among other elements. The other finishes are adding elements such as the dual-zone climate control, light and rain sensor (from the 'Sport' finish), xenon and navigator ('Executive' finish) and sunroof, driver's seat or leather seats (in the finish) 'Executive Plus').
