First Look 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV, All Electric Hatchback, Photos, Review, Price, Features
GM made good on the promise of the final year of a 200-mile electric car with 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV. The automaker said the production version of the all-electric sedan will be more than 200 miles on a single battery charge.
The profile of the Bolt - short overhangs and a waistline aggressive climbing - remains faithful to the 2017 EV Concept shown Bolt year ago, but the face becomes larger headlights and upper and lower cutouts dedicated grid. Fans of the concept will probably be most disappointed by the back of the Bolt production, which slaps large though interesting, taillights below a slender rear window and C-pillar Big. 2017 Concept EV Bolt had smaller rear lights and a square-out window. The production car may be more difficult to see on.
Do not worry: GM says the mirror is a superposition of the camera, such as the new XT5 Cadillac SUV, which shows what is behind you without roof pillars, headrests or passengers blocking the view. Other technology includes a touchscreen dashboard of 10.2 inches with 4G LTE Wi-Fi, a navigation system with maximized range of itineraries and a unique Bluetooth system that says GM uses less energy.
The interior seats five seems efficiently packed, no bumps before or behind the knee center crowd or feet. Up front, the dashboard has a vast amount of material that overlap, including textured panels that recall odd panels-the BMW i3 kenaf fibers.
Bolt the battery is under the floor, and GM says 16.9 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats. Which is similar to a Honda Fit. GM does not share all the details on the battery itself, but 200 miles of beach is a great breakthrough, so the automaker can deliver on promised the starting price of Bolt - about $ 30,000 after tax credit Federal $ 7500 as indicated at the beginning of 2015. Save for some expensive models Tesla, the electric EPA-estimated range for today's electric vehicles is usually less than 100 miles, and has recently strengthened-up the same range of the Nissan Leaf 107 miles is paltry compared to the standards of Bolt.
A GM spokesman did not respond to our request for pricing or other details, but CEO Mary Barra said in a statement that the car would be "achievable by the masses."
We'll probably know before the end of the year. Bolt into production at the end of 2016 and should hit dealerships in the months thereafter.
