2018 Chevrolet El Camino was developed following the success of 1960 utility model flagship coupe of General Motors - Ford Ranchero, leading American Chevrolet car manufacturing company. He debuted in production in 1959 followed by a re-launch in 1964. During the first phase, which lasted 2 years, it was developed using the company FR layout while its design after 1964 followed the General Motors brand "G body" platform based on Chevelle. A model of the truck version was also press alongside a variation model developed under the supervision of GMC Badge - El Camino Sprint in 1971.
