In March 2017, the Mazda company will launch five new models on the 2018 market. One of them will be the second generation of the CX-9 models. Since 2007 when it appeared CX-9 went through two phases of the redesign. Intended primarily for the American market, Mazda SUV is ready for a radical change. 2018 Mazda CX-9, according to current knowledge, will be equipped with the new drive unit. To what extent will change outer appearance of the vehicle is not yet known.

Masahiro Moro, Head of Global Sales and Marketing, Mazda, in his statement focused on the engine that will run the new Mazda CX-September 2018 model. Yet this model, the Mazda5 minivan, is the only that has not gone through SKYACTIV makeover. Since the new generation SKYACTIV engine 2, arrives 2020 and the second generation CX-9 models will be private again this technology. We can assume that this cycle will be interrupted advent of third generation models. 2020 Mazda CX-9 should logically be equipped with engines of SKYACTIV family.
