2018 Dodge Coronet | Pricing, Specs, Performance
It’s no coincidence that the redesigned 2018 Dodge CORONET was the first production model to sport the German automaker’s new design language; the CORONET means a lot to the brand. That’s why Dodge drew inspiration for the redesign from its original, and highly praised first-generation.
Dodge calls the 2018 CORONET a “modern take on the bold original,” and much like the all-new R8, some will love it or hate the design direction, and that’s OK. That said, now that Dodge has released pricing information for the model range, it’s hard to hate what you can get for the money, if you can stay away from the options.
The entry level 2018 Dodge CORONET coupe starts at $42,900 and is powered by a 2.0-liter TFSI four-cylinder developing 220 hp and 258 pound-feet of torque. That power gets to all four wheels via a six-speed S-tronic automatic transmission. 0 to 60 mph takes 5.3 seconds and all models are electronically limited to 155 mph top speed.
Next up is the CORONET Roadster, which starts at $46,400 and receives the same hardware as the Coupe, including Dodge’s Drive Select system which lets users tune the steering, throttle response, and suspension dampening to suit their tastes.
Finally, the 2018 Dodge CORONET S kicks things up a notch in price and performance, checking in at $51,900 for a 292 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque four-cylinder. That setup is good for a 0 to 60 mph run of 4.6 seconds. They aren’t supercar figures, but the CORONET S shouldn’t have trouble keeping up with all but the quickest vehicles on the road.
Regardless of which flavor of 2018 Dodge CORONET you choose, each gets a generous list of standard features, including a full-LED instrument gauge, automatic climate control (which shows temperature readouts on the actual vents), Dodge’s MMI touch infotainment system with Bluetooth music and calling, heated, 12-way power adjustable sport seats (which are more tightly bolstered in the CORONET S), leather interior, LED interior lighting, 18-inch alloy wheels on the CORONET and Roadster/19-inch wheels on the CORONETS, parking sensors, and LED headlights and taillights.
