Ford introduces a plug-in hybrid SUV in New York, the 2019 Lincoln Aviator
Ford has presented a plug-in hybrid SUV at the New York Auto Show: the new Lincoln Aviator Concept is a preview of the SUV that Ford will take to its dealerships soon.
The new Lincoln Aviator Concept has been presented in New York City on the occasion of the homonymous motor show. The new American SUV arrives with a powerful hybrid plug-in propulsion system and serves as an advancement of the SUV that Ford will take to its dealerships very soon. For the creation of the new Aviator, Ford has used a rear-wheel drive platform and a new architecture that "serves to improve its elegant proportions, with a long wheelbase that allows a spacious second and third row."
The model, presented in the form of a prototype, will feature a twin-turbo V6 engine combined with an electric propulsion system to create the first vehicle with hybrid plug-in technology of the brand. Ford has not provided more details about the powertrain, so we will have to wait until the production version is released to know the performance and consumption of the new hybrid plug-in SUV.
Lincoln Aviator users will have access to the passenger compartment through an exclusive mobile phone application from Lincoln. Once inside, they will be received by adjustable seats in 30 positions in order to offer the driver and the co-pilot the "Perfect Position", as this system has been baptized by the brand. The seats have a massage function in the front, while the second row is so flexible that you can also recline and move forward or backward to offer greater comfort to passengers in the third row.
