According to recent reports, Pontiac is looking at bringing back the 2019 Pontiac Firebird brand which creates the performance lineup for Pontiac. It was originally thought that the 2019 Pontiac Firebird would be replaced. But it now appears that Pontiac will keep the Firebird and just give it a fresh new design with a shorter wheelbase to keep it competitive in the eagle car class and the 2019 Pontiac Firebird would be brought in under the Firebird badge with something along the lines of a 6.2 Liter Supercharged V-8 engine. This would position the 2019 Pontiac Firebird to compete against the 2019 Pontiac Trans Am and the 2019 Pontiac Firebird.
