Porsche Mission E Cross Turismo, future German electric CUV
It seemed that all the prominence of Porsche at the Geneva Motor Show 2018 was going to fall on the 911 GT3 RS, but the German brand had a surprise kept in complete secrecy: the Porsche Mission E Cross Tourism, a prototype that advances one of the next models 100% electric company. It is planned that the production version will be revealed next year.
Known as CUV (Cross-Utility Vehicle) by the brand, it is a large four-door saloon (4,950 mm long, 1,990 mm wide and 1,420 mm high) that leads to this new format in the brand language of house design. Many details recall the Mission E (like the headlights) but there are also traces of other vehicles in its image, such as the Panamera Sport Tourism. In addition, it borrows usual rails in the SUVs, such as the lower protections or the wheel arches that house 20-inch wheels.
The interior seeks to combine versatility with technology. In the first facet, the four individual seats can load objects on their backs and are foldable, while in the trunk there is a system of rails and attachment points to carry all kinds of loads. In the second, Porsche has sought to modernize the characteristic elements of its living quarters. The buttons have been eliminated almost completely and the screens are the protagonists: one for the control panel, two to occupy practically the full width of the dashboard and a fourth in the lower area of the center console.
Porsche Mission E Cross Tourism
The Porsche Mission E Cross Tourism is a 100% electric vehicle that combines two engines to develop 600 HP of power, enough to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.5 seconds and reach 200 in less than 12. The traction to the four wheels with Porsche Vectoring is responsible for transmitting the force to the ground in any situation, the adaptive suspension allows to raise the body to 50 mm and the Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control improves stability.
The 800-volt electrical architecture employs a lithium-ion battery of undisclosed capacity that can be charged in 15 minutes to achieve a range of 400 kilometres. The charging modes are various: normal charging, fast charging and induction with the Porsche platform for the home.
