Nissan Juke 2018, New car release dates, Review and Featuress
Nissan is the undisputed leader of todocaminos. For example, in the 10 years that the Qashqai has been selling, two generations have been developed and more than 3.3 million units sold. And in the 7 years that the Juke is on sale, the Japanese company has marketed about 1.2 million units. And that, not to mention the X-Trail, which is also a leader among large SUVs.
These figures, moreover, are sure to increase. Among other things because between 2017 and 2018, the Japanese company will renew its entire range of todocaminos or SUV. First, there will be updated Qashqai and X-Trail, which have been on sale since August 2017. This is not a major renovation, but a cosmetic update and more equipment.
And behind them is when it is the turn to the Juke. It is a completely new Juke, a second generation that arrives to replace the small SUV, launched in 2010 and renovated in 2014.
This complete renovation is completely understandable because, although the Juke is still behaving well in the market, currently has many rivals, all very tough and some of them recently updated. In this way, we can talk about models like Peugeot 2008, Renault Captur, Opel Mokka X, Citroën C4 Cactus, Dacia Duster, Jeep Renegade, Audi Q2, Mitsubishi ASX, Ford EcoSport and Mazda CX-3, among others.
They are joined by other new competitors such as the Seat Arona, Hyundai Kona, Kia Stonic and Citroën C3 Aircross, among others.
The arrival of this new generation Juke is preceded by the Nissan Micra, launched between late 2016 and early 2017. The Micra is a B-segment car that has nothing to do with previous cars. And the new Juke takes, in part, some elements and design features of this new Micra. A good example of this will be the design of the new Juke, which will have a much more powerful front in this new generation.
To this must be added that the design will also have some fall from the pillar B, which will cause the design to be very attractive and sporty. It also changes the platform or structure as now the Juke would now have the modular platform (CMF) of the Renault-Nissan alliance in its Type B variant.
Following on with the novelties this Juke will also feature innovative elements such as semi-automatic driving, known as Nissan ProPilot. This technology will allow the user of the next Juke to set a certain speed and a distance with the vehicle that precedes and the system will keep the car in the same lane and without leaving it.
As for the engines, this new Juke could count on the gasoline of three cylinders and 0,9 litres of 90 CV and with the motors of four cylinders with 1,2 litres and 115 and 130 CV. Also, it is speculated with the arrival of a hybrid version to the range of the new Juke.
As we still do not have images of the next Juke we illustrate this information with the prototype. To see the model in its final version will have to wait until the last months of the year that will be when it presents at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September or at the Japan Motor Show at the end of October.
Its arrival to the concessionaires would be planned around the spring-summer of 2018.
