New 2019 Warszawa M20 GT: Soviet inspiration Car
The Polish company KHM Motor offers it in their country as a recreation of what were once the Warszawa models (Warsaw in Polish), the first Polish-made cars after the Second World War. Although the brand boasts of the Ford agreement in the development of the M20, the signature of the oval has qualified that collaboration does not exist and that cars can not be recognized or promoted as Ford.
Warszawa M20 GT
This is the Warszawa M20 GT, with a certain air of Ferrari Scaglietti in miniature.
Warszawa was the denomination of the first model manufactured by the Polish brand FSO, created by the communist government of the country after the Second World War. The need to have cars for institutions, managers of state companies, party cadres and public services (taxis, ambulances) in a country devastated by the war, led the Polish government to ask the Soviet firm GAZ for the production under license of the Pobeda , a saloon that fulfilled that same role in the Soviet Union. The first Warszawa is this car that you have here below.
Warszawa's commercial career lasted until 1973. A decade earlier, a deep restyling operated locally, converted the original M20 into the more modern 223, with three-volume bodywork, at a time when the Polish government was finalizing an agreement with Fiat that would result, in the early 1970s, in the creation of Polski-Fiat and the start of the production of 125 and 126 in Poland. The Warszawa 223 is the car in the photo below.
On this historical basis, KHM Motor has decided to recover the name of Warszawa, popular only in Poland since the cars manufactured by FSO were only marketed - and in droppers - in countries bordering on the communist world. And to do so, he has decided to offer a coupe with a rear that he remembers, if we throw him a little imagination and thanks to his fastback line, to the original M20. The brand, however, has preferred that its car be a coupe, a variant that never existed in the M20 offered only in sedan and utility pick-up.
Warszawa M20 GT
It sounds to you, right? Indeed, they are the rear lights of the Mercedes-AMG GT.
If you see the rear image of the new M20 GT you will identify the rear lights of the Mercedes-AMG GT that contribute to the aesthetic pupurri impression of the car. Under the hood is the 5-liter V8 of the Mustang GT, a model that also lends the chassis with suspension, braking equipment and steering.
Inside, of which the brand has not provided images, there is talk of a large central screen Tesla style which has forced to completely redo the Mustang dashboard with a new center console and the removal of most physical buttons and that in the M20 GT most orders are transmitted through the aforementioned screen.
Warszawa M20 GT
The company KHM Motor will manufacture this car although it has not announced neither the sale price nor the units that it intends to produce.
We do not know neither prices nor intentions of the brand regarding this peculiar model. In the end, it is designed for people with money - from Poland, of course - who want to drive a different car with the guarantee that, despite the appearance, what is below is still a Mustang. As much as Ford has decided to disprove, his involvement in the project announced by KHM Motor.
