New 2019 Fiat Punto, review, photos, price, features
The fourth generation of the Fiat Punto arrived in 2016 (we had a contact with it in Italy) as an update to the Fiat Punto EVO 2014 (we tested several units, with the 120 HP Multijet diesel engines, the 135 HP Multiair gasoline and a Multiair 105 HP). In turn, this car updated the 20015 Grande Punto ... which again took design features such as the front. Its sales are meagre (3,554 units in 2013), which is logical since it has more current rivals.
It is available with three or five door body. In the last update lost all the most powerful engines and was left with three gasoline (69 to 85 hp) and two diesel (75 to 85 hp). It seems that Fiat realised that it could not compete in dynamic qualities with the referents of the segment and opted to simplify the range, save costs and offer a much cheaper product focused on practicality.
Engines are not gastons at all and achieve good consumption figures. In 2013 the range was reordered, taking advantage of the 20th anniversary of the Point, adding bifuel versions. Its interior is spacious for four people and is conveniently equipped, without fanfare. Its range was structured in three levels of finishing (Pop, Easy and Lounge), although the latter did not last long in the market. In 2019, the Fiat Punto Young, aimed at young people, will be launched).
