2019 Renault K-ZE: 100% electric urban SUV
The French firm has presented at the Paris Salon a new all-electric model to complete its EV range with a total of four options. The Renault K-ZE is an urban crossover, smaller than a Captur, and will only be offered with a 100% electric motor. It will begin its journey in China to subsequently reach the rest of the world.

Renault presents a new all-electric urban crossover in Paris. It is smaller than a Captur and will be sold first in China.
The K-ZE is a new electric vehicle segment A. It is clearly inspired by the aesthetics of the Captur crossover and is equipped with an autonomy of about 250 km according to the NEDC cycle. It should be remembered that this approval cycle is quite benevolent with the autonomies of electric cars while the new WLTP cycle is a bit more realistic. Renault has not provided data with WLTP.
As commented yesterday Carlos Goshn, President and CEO of the Renault Group, the Renault K-ZE is adapted to be easily charged both a conventional plug and a wallbox fast charge.
This small crossover adds to the range of electric models of Renault, currently composed of the Renault Twizy, the Zoe, the Kangoo Z.E. and the Master Z.E., and although no more information has been revealed about its electric drive, beyond the autonomy, the logical thing is that it ends up riding in the same electric motor that currently equips the Renault Zoe. Although seeing the autonomy that states perhaps the batteries that mount have less capacity.

According to the NEDC cycle it has an autonomy of 250 km. It can be plugged into both a fast charging wallbox and a household plug.
Carlos Goshn has also taken advantage of the press conference prior to the show to send the message that in 2020 will come new hybrid versions of the Renanult Clio, as well as hybrid rechargeable Mégane and Captur.
China is the number one market for electric vehicles worldwide, and currently also has the highest growth rate of this technology in the automobile. It is for this reason that the Renault K-ZE will be marketed at first in China. Its manufacture will be local and will be in charge of e-GT New Energy Automotive Co, the joint venture created with Dongfeng Motor Group and Nissan to develop and produce electric vehicles for the Chinese market. Later he will arrive in Europe.
