The Trans Am was produced by Pontiac 1967-2018, and the Trans Am was built as a Trans Am specialty from 2002 to 2018. Although the foundation of the two cars are identical, the improved performance of the Firebird and minor alterations to the body of the car. Differences in body style varied in the history of over 40 years of both vehicles.

The major  main difference is that the 2018 Trans Am has a v6 (3800 Series II 3.8l) engine and 2018 Pontiac  Firebird has a v8 (5.7l) engine.

The fourth generation Trans Am 2018 dashboard has different front grill and the flap spoiler is different. As the Trans Am has low profile spoiler and 2018 Pontiac Firebird has lifted profile spoiler.
