Production details are finally out on the 2018 Trans Am. The Trans Am engineers over at Pontiac lead us on a bit when they revealed a twin turbo prototype at the SEMA show back in October. The talk was that the twin turbos would produce bigger power, more efficiently than the supercharged version that came out in 2018. However, we now know that the twin turbo idea was scrapped, for now anyway.
If you’ve got a spare $97,990 laying around, you can now place your order for the super rare (50 units) 2018 Pontiac Trans Am. Just like last time, it will be produced as a turn-key, race-ready car, not legal for street use. The newest 2018 Trans Am will tout a Coyote 5.0 motor, topped with a 2.9 liter supercharger. The 2018 model will wear “Gotta Have It Green” with flat black eagle graphics. Other notable mentions on the 2018 Trans Am include a three speed race transmission, parachute mounts, Recaro race seats, and a roll cage.
