Spinning the front wheels, the configuration should see the return Pacifica Hybrid EPA-estimated fuel economy of 80 MPGe, the company said.
The lithium-ion battery under the rear seat is a unit of 16 kilowatts hour which takes about two hours to recharge using a charging station 240 volt Level 2 and can take the vehicle as much as 35 miles on all-electric.
The new hybrid Pacifica is joined by a gasoline-only version that shares an engine with the hybrid and is rated at 287 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque.
This version also comes with a nine-speed auto standard and will be available with an engine stop-start system. Power numbers for the hybrid Pacifica will be announced closer to market launch.
By way of one essence, the new Pacifica will be on sale this spring as a 2017 model.
