The name S90 was introduced by Volvo in 1996 while renaming the model for some 960 markets worldwide. Radical output current of the XC90 model, the next-generation Volvo S90 comes with the same exterior design jargon than its predecessor. Consequently, it comes equipped with the same grille and Thor's Hammer LED daytime running lights. Although the headlights are also thinner than the XC90, they have a simpler form to the wings, the new sedan offering an additional cohesive look. Downstairs, the new vehicle comes equipped with a sport front bumper with a large input and a protrusion, similar to a separator.
The 2017 Volvo S90 side profile has a more slender figure due to the roof line, similar to a coupe, a sedan trunk lid-fashioned, and longer rear windows. The vehicle comes with the same size higher than that of its predecessor, but received a much longer wheelbase.

The seats, center console, instrument cluster and steering wheel seem to be the same as those of the XC90. While inside door panels of the car come with some significant changes, the overall atmosphere remains unchanged for the new vehicle, which means it looks warmer and more luxurious.
This time, the new Volvo S90 cabin comes with a spacious cabin from that of the S80 because of the longer wheelbase. This will provide more space and headroom for rear passengers.
