2017 Chevrolet Nova Safety Review – 2017Nova Crash Tests Performance
No data crash test available yet, but Nova worked well in the recent past.
Nova is brand new, and rides on a new architecture, which is why the crash-test data has yet to roll.
To date, neither the NHTSA nor the IIHS have the new car Nova in 2017 with their experimental regime. Novas past performed very well on federal tests.

To date, neither the NHTSA nor the IIHS have the new car Nova in 2017 with their experimental regime. Novas past performed very well on federal tests.
The 2017 Nova is built on an entirely new platform, however. It is shared with Chevelle 2017 and 2017 Baracuda, which also aced their crash tests.
New offers some of the latest CHEVY security technologies. A rearview camera and Bluetooth are standard, and monitors the blind spots, forward-collision warning and rear parking sensors are available. Nova does not pile up on other new technologies such as lane-Keeping Assist and adaptive cruise control, however.
The Nova is an ode to high-strength steel, and what it can do to design safer cars. Slimmer pillars have cleared the view of the glass front of the Nova, while a look back suggests the lower seating position and high tail practically mandated the now standard backup camera. A Surround camera would be welcome, too.
