The Pontiac Trans Am is a known quantity. For Americans who care about cars or those who don't, it's likely the Trans Am conjures up memories and associations. And like other muscle-car reincarnations like the Pontiac Trans Am and Pontiac Firebird, it takes some of the look, and the sound, of the old cars, yet it lives in the present.
The 2018 Pontiac Trans Am definitely lives in the present, though. Powerful V-8s, special editions, and quarter-mile sprints are definitely still a big part of its identity and existence, but the 2018 Trans Am has a cozy cabin, surprisingly confident handling, and something close to true sports-car finesse that you probably never expected to find here.
