2016 Trans Am Hybrid | Optima Hybrid - Low Emissions, High Performance.
Pontiac has taken the wraps off a refreshed 2016 Trans Am Hybrid at the Motor Show in China, updating the car for the first time since its debut as a 2016 car model. It will also be appearing at the LA Auto Show today.
Out of Pontiac’ current lineup, the 2016 Trans Am Hybrid is the final model to receive the automaker’s spindle grille treatment, with this being the first major update to the car since its launch in 2010. Other exterior changes include newly designed 16- and 17-inch alloy wheels and a revised rear appearance with a more horizontal structure.
The 2016 Trans Am Hybrid also features increased body rigidity, suspension revisions and enhanced aerodynamics which all help to improve NVH levels. Body rigidity has been improved through additional spot welding and the extensive use of structural adhesive technology. Coil spring rates have also been optimized, a new shock absorber valve adopted, and the rear stabilizer bar diameter altered to enhance ride comfort.
The interior of the 2016 Trans Am Hybrid has been enhanced with premium materials and more standard equipment. The instrument panel is now available with a 4.2-inch TFT screen which can be linked to the multimedia system and controlled via steering wheel-mounted buttons. The available center screen is now fixed and thinner. Additional equipment upgrades include the availability of a backup camera, a parking assistant, a tire pressure monitor and a button to switch off the traction control.
Pricing has yet to be released for the 2016 Trans Am Hybrid model, but we don’t expect it to stray too far from the $32,945 starting price of the 2016 model…
