Although it is named Shelby, this is the creation of a Ford SVT group. It is the spiritual successor to the recent and beloved Boss 302 the newest Shelby, this ground beating supercharged beast known as the 2018 GT500. So why call a Shelby instead of a boss or a Cobra or Mach (or a sprint or a Ghia or ...)? Because attaching the Shelby name allows Ford to ask for more.

The 2018 GT350 uses the same platform "S550" behind the 2017 Mustang. We expect this version will mount a much stiffer suspension with adjustable shock absorbers. The first test vehicle spotted around Dearborn, Michigan, headquarters of the company, wore cross-drilled brake discs, carbon ceramic. We expect the engine to be mounted exclusively on a manual transmission and send power through a limited slip differential.
