Porsche 911 Speedster concept: It will arrive in mid-2019
Porsche goes to the Paris Motor Show with the 911 Speedster concept, a practically finished prototype that will begin to be sold in mid-2019 under a limited edition of 1,948 units.

The new Porsche 911 Speedster will go on sale in mid-2019 in a series limited to 1,948 units.
The limited figure of 1,948 units is not a coincidence, it is a tribute to the Porsche 356 "number 1" that received its registration certificate on June 8, 1948. Nor is it by chance the red colour Guardia with which it has been presented in Paris, since it is a nod that links it to the 911 Speedster of the G series of 1988.
The car has been developed in the competition department of Porsche in Weissach, with the collaboration of Style Porsche and Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur. It is based on the 991 range and will be the first model to offer the new Heritage Design Package, an exclusive line of Porsche Exclusive accessories that allows an even greater degree of customisation for the 911.

The double dome is one of the differentiating elements. It also mounts 911 GT3 chassis and an atmospheric boxer engine with more than 500 horsepower.
The body of this prototype is based on the 911 Carrera 4 Cabriolet. The bumpers and the two hoods, the front and the rear, are made of a lightweight carbon fibre composite to reduce weight, the windshield frame is shortened and the side windows are smaller. Another differentiating element is the double rear dome made of carbon fibre. For its part, it has a protective canvas fixed with Tenax type buttons instead of a classic folding soft top.
Rides 21-inch wheels with centre nut and crossed spokes similar to those of the racing Porsche. The daytime lights are tinted in red and are also inspired by the world of racing. The two exterior mirrors are "Talbot" type and, next to the lid of the fuel tank located in the centre of the hood, are painted in black chrome and platinum.

The chassis of this 911 Speedster has been borrowed directly from the 911 GT3. In addition, the GT vehicle development department has installed a new titanium exhaust system and all the mechanics. Mounts a six-cylinder atmospheric boxer engine with more than 500 power and a maximum speed of rotation above 9,000 rpm.
Despite being a prototype, the German firm has already confirmed that it will be put on sale in mid-2019.
