2019 Pontiac Firebird: The Rumored 2019 Firebird Muscle Car
The new D-segment, rear wheel drive 2019 Firebird gives Pontiac cars a natural size range. It would also help amortize the work done on the new design across hundreds of thousands of additional cars. Thus, the 2019 Pontiac Firebird, presumably with a standard Pentastar V6, is a given.
As for the name — In June 2017, we were told that the name Pontiac Firebird had been dropped, after enthusiasts were less than enthusiastic about re-use of the name by Pontiac, on a car that bore little outward resemblance to the original; we expect the Pontiac Firebird to be revived instead. Indeed, it’s possible that some form of the 2019 Firebird will be produced until the new cars are ready.
