Dacia Duster - the brand's popular SUV opens its second generation in 2018
The Dacia Duster is one of the cheapest SUVs on the market, and revolutionized this category by going on sale for half the price of most of its rivals. Launched in 2010, it uses the same platform as Dacia Logan and Dacia Sandero. However, in 2017 this low-cost SUV has been renewed with its second generation to address the upper segments and become a threat to other more expensive models. At 4.31 meters long and 1.82 meters wide, the Dacia Duster presents compact dimensions. Its size, similar to that of a Renault Mégane, allows it to move without difficulty both in urban environments and on roads and forest tracks. The AWD variants of the new Dacia Duster make use of a traction system (of Nissan origin) that allows the driver to choose between the different driving modes: - 'Auto', where the distribution of the torque between the front and rear trains is done automatically depending on the conditions of adhesion (under normal conditions, the torque is transmitted only to the front wheels and, in case of loss of motor or lack of grip, a part of the torque is transferred to the rear wheels) .- 'Lock' , where the driver electronically blocks the 4X4 transmission (engine control and braking are also adapted to a reserved use to difficult terrain and non-passable roads) .- '2WD', where the transmission is blocked for the two-wheel drive (This mode lends itself to driving on normal roads and reduces fuel consumption). On the other hand, the reinforced frame of the new Duster has been adapted to an all-terrain use thanks to a high ground clearance, short overhangs (822 millimeters at the front and 820 at the rear) and some important postage angles. Likewise, its weight is moderate given the dimensions of the whole.
